I teach a very wide variety of Burlesque, Vaudeville and Cabaret style Dance Routines ranging from Burlesque Striptease and Moulin Rouge / Can-Can styles, Lap / Chair Dance, plus Stage / Show / Cabaret styles, and for the brave, (and those with a wicked sense of humour,) I will teach you how to “Nipple Tassel”!
There`s a lot more to these styles of dancing than most people think, so be prepared for an energetic medley of fabulously choreographed dances and routines ... it`s not all about stripping down and jiggling about!
There will be no full nudity in class(es), so please don`t panic … also (when I teach them), you do not have to do the basic striptease routines if you feel uneasy, however I am confident that once you actually give it a go, there will be no stopping you - it really does help to boost your body confidence / self-image!
Please be assured that there will be nothing "vulgar", "rude" or "distasteful" about what I teach, and you only do what you yourself are comfortable with whilst attending class(es)!
What to wear?:
Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in, and clothing that will allow for ease of movement/dance.
For weekly classes, most (of our girls/ladies) tend to wear leggings, a cool / comfy top, and a pair of heeled boots or shoes that you can comfortably dance/move in. (Bare or socked feet otherwise - up to you.)
Anything goes, from the above mentioned leggings & top, to a flouncy skirt / dress, to basques / corsets, stockings, heels & frilly lingerie ... the class has quite a mix of styles / outfits / costumes, so please do not be shy!
Bring a drink of pop or water with you too - it`s thirsty work!
We have “Dress / Costume Dances” where we wear a basic “costume”, but these items should be easily found in your own wardrobes and underwear drawers. Once you start to learn certain routines, you can then add the finishing touches by means of clothing, props, accessories, etc.
(A basic costume can usually include some of the following: a jacket, dress/skirt & blouse or shirt style top, corset or basque, etc. heels, boots, stockings/tights, gloves, hat, sexy lingerie, etc. ... find out those frillies!)
If you want to bring/wear your tassels - please do!
I aim to make all classes FUN, ENJOYABLE and WELCOMING!
Most of our members come along on their own (whilst some may come along with a friend or two) ... don`t worry - you will be made to feel very welcome, and any "first-time" nerves will soon disappear!
These classes are ideal as an alternative to more "conventional" exercise sessions - they work your body hard, and I`m sure you will even be able / want to try some of the techniques out at home!
Please feel free to contact me (Lara) for any further information, otherwise, I hope to see you at class!
